Stuart is a specialist family lawyer and Head of the Family Department. He has specialised exclusively in Family Law since qualification in 1995 and has considerable experience dealing with all aspects of relationship breakdown, divorce, separation, finances and disputes concerning children.

 

Stuart is an accredited Family Law specialist, member of Resolution, Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer.

 

Recent instructions have included:

 

Acting in numerous high value financial proceedings within Divorce (with experience in financial proceedings involving business owners and managers, disputes for clients with inherited land, farming issues and family businesses);

Acting in divorce and financial proceedings concerning assets of £5 million with a substantial dispute regarding post separation expenditure and add backs;

Successfully acting for the Respondent (both personally and on behalf of their company) applying to vary and relax the effect (in this jurisdiction) of a worldwide freezing Mareva Order made by an overseas court mirrored in England;

Acting for a number of different clients in preparing Nuptial Agreements and Living Together (Cohabitation) Agreements where the assets in issue range from £500,000 to £12 milion;

Intervening on behalf of third parties in Financial Proceedings within Divorce;

Collaborative Law and Round Table Negotiations;

Successful representation of clients in cases where serious allegations have been made by and against clients, designed to prevent and/or prohibit contact to a child/children; and

Successful representation in contested Leave to Remove and Child Arrangement Orders (Residence/Contact) issues.
